you don't need symptoms to get tested for herpes with the herpeselect. It's 98% accurate, it's just that folks who have no reason to doubt their test results, don't come to the boards for help so the boards get unfairly balanced with folks with false positives.
congrats on the negative testing!
I just took a confirmatory BioKit test and the result was NEGATIVE. Relieved to say the least.
The Dr. advised me that a Herpeselect test should never be taken unless there are symptoms. Considering my experience, I would follow this advice if I were you. However, I am no doctor so please take what I say with a grain of salt. Best of luck.
Thank you for your help. I will post my results upon confirmation.
encourage the provider to read the 2010 CDC herpes guidelines to update their info on herpes igg blood testing.
you do indeed need to seek out a herpes WB test at this point to confirm your low positive igg results. A biokit hsv2 igg would also be acceptable too.

My last sexual contact was on December 19. The first time I was tested was 8 weeks later. The last time I was tested was on March 22 -- almost 13.5 weeks from last sexual contact.
The timeline you have is within a 3 month period can you give us a time line as for what day in Decemeber was your last sexual encounter and when you took the test in march?
Let grace reivew your results so she can advise you as your next steps. The IGM test though is a waste of time and money. It shouldn't be used for herpes.
