Back pain herpes 2

My husband and I have had herpes since our first sexual encounters (we both thought we went into the relationship without it, but had a breakout about the same time during the early shagathon stage of a new relationship - 12 (otherwise) happy years later we neither know nor care who started it).

Within the last year, we have both had mysterious back pain "out-breaks" for a few days.  As in can't walk, lower back pain - but with no obvious structural or muscular symptoms (we are both athletes so are familiar with muscular/structural pain). Definitely at the middle/end of a low level out break (OB) for one of three incidence, but not sure about the other two.  (We sometimes have outbreaks that are not very noticeable unless you happen to feel a bit sluggish and think to poke around to see if pelvic glands are swollen).  It sounds odd that we would have the same symptoms, but this has been pretty common throughout our relationship... somehow our OBs seem to not only occur at a similar time (which makes sense) but also have similar symptoms (which makes less sense).

It occurs that as type two hangs out near the nerves at the base of the spine, that this might be a herpes thing ... anyone else experience this?

This doesn't sound herpes related. typically any back pain from your genital herpes would be just prior to a recurrence. As we get older, all sorts of aches and pains develop unfortunately and it may be worth a trip to the chiropractor or your regular doctors for further evaluation. Another option is to visit a therapeutic massage therapist when you have pain so that they can help narrow down the area and help you see if it's muscular or not ( plus any excuse for a massage!!! ).

The only herpes that causes any real nerve issues is shingles. What your describing really would be more of a injury from being athletic. I would suggest an MRI.
