Bumps with scabs on top

I am a 19 year old female and I shaved my vaginal lips near the entrance into my vagina a week ago and nothing was wrong, the next day I got bumps that appeared to be under the skin and on top, I didn't think anything of it and had sex with my boyfriend the next day. The bumps got worse some of them became cuts, I can see the pink layer of my skin. The following day I found a cut about and inch long, It looks infected and covered in pus. My boyfriend told me now he has bumps all over the shaft of his penis that are red and have a small scab on the top with pus inside them. Now mines also have scabs on top of them as well. The cut is also not healing well. I've been cleaning the whole area 2 times a day and keeping the area dry as possible, but it's really painful to wash. This can't be an STD I have only been with one guy and he and I were each others first. I am going to go to the doctor as soon as possible. I'm very scared I have never had this happen before. I also have pictures if it's necessary.

I feel you need to seek medical advice regarding this. It seems suspicious and may need appropriate treatment and medication. If you and your boyfriend have not tested for STDs including herpes, then I'd suggest that is not a bad idea if you intend to have unprotected sex.
