COULD THIS BE HERPES?

Dear Dr. Handsfield,

For a week now I am having a dry skin on the head of my penis. But whats bothering me is a red dot that looked like a pimple on the penis gland. It doesnt hurt or itch. It's just there. What freaks me out is I never had this before. I had frottage (genital rubbing) with a girl that I dont know about 7-8 months ago. I went to a Infectious Disease doctor about 5 months ago, he ran some tests and evaluatioons and finally informed me that I dont have any STDs. But when this pimple shows up in the head of my penis shows off, I became very paranoid and worried again about my health, thinking that this could be HERPES. I just dont know anymore, I am just really worried that my past sins are still haunting. I cant just function right. Its crazy how 1 mistake can haunt you for the rest of your life. I really regret what I did on the past. I hope you can help me Doc.

Thank you. The infectious disease doctor told me that I in a healthy person but worries easily category.

Also read some of Dr. Handsfield old posts that theoretically you can get Herpes from skin to skin contact but he said that for his 4 decades in the field he has never seen one that had herpes due to frottage. its always been intercourse (penetration) involved.

Its just when I went and started reading other posts which has some mix evaluations and opions makes me doubt my infectious disease doctor that I've seen 5 months ago. I would just like to say thank you and I really appreciate your time and effort for answering my concerns

Herpes sores open shortly after coming to the surface. As an average symptoms appear from 3 to 13 days or so post exposure. With the frontagge that your mentioning i would not be concerned at all you contracted herpes. Have a blood test if your overly concerned.

Does the herpes blister hurt in a early stage? I had this pimple for almost a week now. Does the blister break open? If it open how long?

Last question... If you are infected with herpes how long does it take for you to see symptoms?

Hi Bruce, the doctors dont reply in the forum. Having irritations show up 7-8 months post exposure would not be related to that particular act. If you want to know if you have herpes get tested but having a small red dot and dry penis skin is not a symptom of herpes. Herpes is most always on the shaft or pubic mound area vrs the head and when it comes to the surface it is described as blister or razor type cut. Does it appear your having a herpes outbreak? No it does not.
