Can HSV1 be pass in the form of HSV2

Ok the person i was having sex with told me she had herpes HSV1 and hsv2. I’m  trying to figure out is it possible that she contracted the virus from me? I went and got tested and my results from the test was positive from HSV1 but negative for hsv2 I know It can be passed from oral to genital but would it be in the form of HSV1 or hsv2. Cause I’m negative for hsv2 but HSV1 positive. I’m thinking she got it from the other guy she was having unprotected sex with but she says he’s in the clear. Is it tru that HSV1 can be passsed in the form of HSV2 or is she be untruthful or maybe she’s been having it and just didn’t know
Pleas help I’m lost n confused

If you have type 1 and perform oral sex on someone, and they get genital herpes, they would have genital herpes type 1. The number indicates the strain of the virus, not the location.

Make sure that the person has been given a type specific IgG blood test. Often, people get combo tests, which give results like, "IgG hsv1&2" with either a positive or a number after it. All this means is that they found antibodies for type 1 OR type 2 OR both. Doctors often don't know this, and say that they have tested positive for both, which may or may not be true. If she's had a type specific test, it will say, "IgG hsv 1" with a result, and "IgG hsv2" with a result, and those results will likely be different.

Hope this helps!

Yes we went to the same doctor and got the same test done which was a type specific igg. Hers came back positive for both. Mine came back positive for HSV1 but negative for hsv2. But she claims me having the HSV1 virus is what gave her the hsv2 virus.
