Can I get genital herpes 1 and 2?

Hello

I was diagnosed with genital hsv-1 about 2 years ago.  I had my initial outbreak and then nothing ever again.  I recently started dating a guy who has genital HSV-2 w about 2-3 breakouts a year.

I have 3 questions:

What are the chances of him getting genital HSV-1 from me
What are the chances of him getting oral HSV-1 from me if he gives me oral sex
What are the chances of me getting genital HSV-2 from him when I already have genital HSV-1

He thinks he is having an outbreak (small red dot so he's not 100% sure yet) and we had sex 3 days ago with a condom but the condom does not cover the spot that his outbreak is at if it is an outbreak (it's not in his usual spot)

Thanks!

I'm saying if he did contract hsv1 of the genitals his hsv2 would be dominant and he wouldn't really notice a differance.
If he was having an outbreak and the area that wasn't covered by the condom was massaging your skin that increases the risk. Still most exposures do not lead to transmission. The thing to remember is the virus can shed anywhere in the boxer shorts area. Again your risk isn't very big due to the area of most friction was covered.
Yes you could get his hsv2 and have both. You are at greater risk than him due to hsv2 sheds more and likes the genitals as opposed to hsv1 which prefers the oral area. It's a small risk but hsv2 can infect the oral cavity as well. It's somewhat rare but can happen.

Hsv1 on the genitals as you know has few outbreaks and some people never get another one past the primary outbreak. It also sheds very little compared to hsv2. His odds of getting genital hsv1 from you through Intercourse is very very low. For him it wouldn't matter as hsv2 would be far more dominant. His chances of getting an oral infection is very low as well as again it sheds very little. His odds are greater for an oral infection from oral sex but it's still very small.
Your hsv1 offers no real protection at all from hsv2 and your odds are far greater to get hsv2 than his odds of hsv1.
If he is on antivirals meds and condom use greatly reduced the chances. Your odds of contracting hsv2 from your protected exposure is incredibly small. The condom actually protects you better than it does him.
All in all hsv as a whole is not a big deal and is common. The social stigma is ridiculous and if you have a great relationship  that's all that matters. I wish you both the best and let me know if anything wasn't clear or you need further help.

He's not on antivirals.....so my HSV-1 status doesn't matter...I could still get his and have genital hsv-1 and genital hsv-2?? And does a condom really help if it doesn't cover the area of the outbreak?
