When children get hsv1 oral its from rubbing kissing as the virus has to be forced into the nerve so even direct contact needs a push. What your describing is really not possible at all and the simple fact that if it was we would have millions of children here in the U.S. with genital herpes and we dont. Its estimated at 70% of the adult population would test positive for hsv1 oral and of those that have children, if what your asking was possible, it would be on the level of a plaque!!! How many children do you know have genital herpes? None.
I'm still concerned that there were visible sores and what if she touched her face and then touched the child private area?
Ok thank you for responding
Hi, hsv is contracted by direct contact not by hand passing.
There still isn't a risk with passing it to the genitals I don't think.
It's still not a good idea to touch active sores.
I would really like your opinion on this grace
She did have visible sores on her cheeks at the time she was bathing my cousin.
There is no risk of passing HSV-1 to the genitals from what you describe. HSV-1 is only commonly transferred from parent to child orally by kissing when a cold sore is present.
