Caught Herpes at Strip Club - need advice

Six months ago I visited a strip club.  During the dance, she rubbed her bikini bottom groin area with her hand, and rubbed her breast.  I then licked her breast for about ten seconds.  Four days later I got a large cold sore blister on my upper lip.  In the months since, i have felt lip tingling.  Last week I got sunburned at the beach, and bit the inside of my mouth very hard while eating.  This morning, I have a new cold sore on my lower lip directly on the other side from where I bit the inside of my mouth / lip a few days ago.

Questions:

- did I seriously contract oral herpes from sucking a strippers breast at a strip club?  Is that even possible?
- Is there any way I could pass the virus to my groin?  Meaning, is it possible to self-transfer from mouth to groin or vice versa?
- Are there over the counter or prescription medications I should take?  Is HSV-2 oral more 'dangerous' than HSV-1 oral?  Meaning, if I have HSV-2, am i more likely to pass that to my girlfriend than if I have HSV-1?
- if i got to the doctor this week, what test should I get?  I want to know which HSV i have.

Thanks!

Re: Grace

Thanks for the info.

Curious, what is the reason that it would not be possible for me to self-transfer the virus from my lips to groin?  Is that impossible, or just unlikely?

The reason I ask; for several years I occasionally get jock itch; during which the tip of my penis and creases on my legs where my pelvis meets my thighs will itch.  I sweat quite a bit, and if I have a day where I sweat a lot and then do not shower or change for many hours, I will develop jock itch for several weeks.

I am concerned because two days before my latest oral cold sore outbreak, I developed another instance of jock itch.  This makes sense, it is extremely hot where I live right now, so a jock itch occurrence would be normal for me.  However, the irritation in my penis feels different.  It is a 'shooting pain' instead of a normal contact-irritation pain.  This has me EXTREMELY paranoid that I somehow caught oral herpes at the strip club and subsequently passed it to my groin.  However, I have never developed a blister on my penis.  Right now it looks the same as always when I get jock itch; a slight reddish irritation on the inside "rim" of the opening on the penis tip.  Is there any way I self-transferred to my groin, but the outbreak would only be felt, not seen?

Sorry to be long-winded; I hate to sound like a hypochondriac; but these last few months have been very bizarre for me.

- very unlikely.   had you kissed anyone new around the same time?

- nope, not gonna happen

- hsv2 orally sheds far less than hsv1 orally does. not many folks have hsv2 orally and those who do, not many of them get recurrences

- you want a type specific herpes igg blood test. also talk with your current partner because she should ideally be tested too so you both know who has what.

First let me stress that i am not an expert on this matter but have done a vast amount of research on this topic in the past few months after a herpes scare. I have also talked to a variety of professionals on the matter as well in my research.  I hope this information helps.

Although unlikely it is possible that you could have contracted herpes in such a matter especially if there was any vaginal fluid in the area of her breast where u placed your mouth. It is probably more likely you acquired HSV-1 through kissing and are relating this outbreak to your time at the strip club.
You can self transfer the virus to your groin if you touch an open lesion and then touch your groin. However, b/c you have the virus (assuming u do) your body has begun producing antibodies to help fight the infection and therefore it is harder to self infect yourself in other locations because your body already has a mechanism for fighting the infection.
There are over the counter creams you can buy as well as antiviral medications (which i believe u need a prescription for) which will help fight the virus.
If you have an open lesion then the doctor can perform a simple swab test to detect if the herpes virus is present. U may need a blood test to determine which herpes virus u have. IgG specific test is best b/c it determines which stand of Herpes you have HSV-1 or HSV-2. Talk to your doctor more about your situation.
