Chance of HSV2 oral spread?

Supposedly I tested a low positive for HSV2 (1.35 IgG) and negative for HSV1, despite never having intercourse my entire life and only having one oral encounter.

If I truly have oral HSV2, is it easy to spread via kissing, sharing drinks or hookah?

Back up here... If you've never had a sexual encounter, I very much doubt your low positive result is accurate. It's most likely a false positive. Have you ever had symptoms?

Oral sex is a very inefficient way to spread hsv, especially hsv2. There are biological reasons for this.

I think your test results are false. I think you are truly negative.

Yes that is correct, I've never had intercourse. I have received oral (blowjob) and given analingus. Brief kissing as well before and after.

This was 4 months ago and aside from brief stinging in my urethra 3 days after the exposure, never had symptoms related to herpes. No sores, no flu like symptoms, no lesions.

I think twice over the last 4 months the back of my throat was starting to feel a tad sore, but both nights I took vitamin C before bed and woke up feeling fine the next day.
Your sore throat is completely irrelevant. I very much doubt your test result. First, oral hsv2 is quite rare. Second, viral shedding from oral hsv2 is quite low. Third, if you truly had a primary infection from hsv2 from oral sex, I think you would have noticed very obvious symptoms and I think you would've had a recurrent outbreak by now.

What should you do now? You need confirmatory testing. Do not retake the IgG test. It probably will not change. You may want to consider taking the Western Blot given at the University of Washington. If you google the test or contact the UW, you can get instructions on ordering the test. It will likely come back negative.
Thanks for the response. I also feel this was an inaccurate test result that's only given me emotional trauma. I'm just not sure I'll be able to convince my doctor to order the WB test since she's adamant on the test I've used. To be honest I almost don't even want to retake a test and just assume I'm clean given my absence of symptoms and the low risk I was in.

Thanks

Anyone else think this is a false test result?
