Cold sore or canker or something else?

This maybe a question for Grace or someone else who has been on here a while.

I have been hyper attentive to anything in mouth since I recently was exposed to oral H. I have a white spot on my lip, about here the upper and lower lip meet when you close your mouth. It doesn't burn or itch or anything. It has been there ten days or so. It never opened up or oozed or even formed a bump. Just a spot. Could this just be a canker sore. It is still in the soft part of the lip, but just barely in the soft part.

It is not "open" like a canker either.

Let me know if anyone has an idea if this sounds like a cold sore or something else.

You've already posted to the experts about this whole situation a few times.  You seem very, very anxious about the whole thing.

If you have new symptoms that concern you, you need to follow up on them in a timely manner with your provider. They can culture anything that they feel might be due to herpes.  Not too much else we can help you with at this point to be honest.

I also have a post about spots on my tongue. I guess I should have put these in the same thread. Sorry about that. Feel free to answer either or just this one here.
