Why does my vagina tear during sex? (After hsv1 outbreak)

I have been sexually active for years and with my boyfriend for a year now and i recently was diagnosed with Genital hsv1 (herpes) the lesion i had was on the side of ny vagina lip and had went away after about 10 days including me taking acyclovir. Last night I noticed i was fully healed from the outbreak and went to have sex with my boyfriend, when he tried sliding in I noticed a sharp pain like he was ripping me (this had never happened before) so about 5 minutes into it the pain went down but I decided to stop and wait til the next day to see if it healed. The next day I wanted to try again because we havent had sex in about 3 weeks and i was waiting to heal from my outbreak, when he slid in again my vagina hurt and the rip started to open again and feel worse! The pain was on my vagina hole but then I noticed my sides of the inside of my vagina was hurting too (close to the hole not deep in) it really put me down and i just dont know why this is happening.. could it be that the outbreak is still going on? Side note: the outbreak also affected ny vagina hole in the beginning causing an infected rip. (Sorry if this post is so long but i really need answers. :c ) also this was my first outbreak.
