Confused about the symptom of Herpes

Hi,

I had protected oral and vaginal sex with a female friend almost 4 weeks ago now. I originally do not have any symptoms apart from some fungal infection, which i treated myself with some ointment that i had purchased at the pharmacist. I believe it contains Clotrimazole.

2 days ago, I noticed a pretty big bump on the shaft of my penis. (3-4mm) Single, raised, red, and had a very small whitehead at the center. It feels hardened on the inside, and is slightly painful when applied pressure to it. Yesterday, I noticed the small whitehead had turned significantly bigger, then I believed it popped by itself because the whitehead was gone. When I squeezed it, i noticed a yellow-ish pus comes out. A day before the bump appears, i remembered the area developed was accompanied by rash, and was slightly painful. Right now, the bump remains, but it is slowly returning back to normal. (Less raised) I shall also mentioned that it looked more like a typical pimple than a typical herpes outbreak.

I originally doubt this is Herpes in the first place, because it would usually accompanied by clusters of small bumps, but after reading a couple of post in this forum... Well, let's just say my fear gets the better out of me. I plan to have a test done next month when I return home, but until then... I would like to ask if this is a possible sign of Herpes.

Yes, I have plans to get myself tested after the 3 month mark, so that my test results will be reliable.

On a slighter note. The bump I've mentioned has now shrink to the point where I can hardly notice it. I can find it if I try to feel it, but other than that, it seems it has already been healed.

The best thing to do is if you can't be seen by a doctor is wait 12-16 weeks after your last sexual encounter to be tested.  Given this is low risk situation (condom protected oral sex would mean no real risk and vaginal sex is low risk when condom protected as well) you should still get tested to know for sure.  If you get a return of symptoms see a doctor within 24-48 hours for a culture.

Thank you grace. I shall see to it when I have the chance. I am currently living overseas, and most doctor over here does not speak English, so it is quite difficult for me unless i return home next month.

I should update that my bump had almost returned to normal. There is no longer any pus, and I can barely noticed it now.

Again, thank you for your attention.

the best thing to do is to be seen today or tomorrow for a proper evaluation of your current symptoms.
