Confused and scared

I have been diagnosed with Herpes 1 and herpes 2 this week. I have never in my life had a fever blister or a breakout like they describe herpes being. I have over the past year had continuous problems with yeast infections and UTI's. One occasion I had three small flat white separated bumps that were not painful and then simply went away at the time I had used over the counter yeast infection cream and was itching extremely! bad. Recently (this past month) I went back to doctor for another UTI took medication and then a week later just felt this burning sensation. This is a repeated sensation normally around time of my mental cycle. The doctor told me I had herpes because burning was associated with herpes. . I explain it like I would like a fan. Now  my doctor has given me a blood test and I have tested positive for both and have had a Pap smear show abnormal cells so I have a follow up appointment for that.
My question is with all these false positives and people Carrying herpes without knowing, could I have something other than herpes. How do I know if I have herpes or not, is there anyway to really know? I have started a 500mg tablet of valtrex daily.  My partner is getting tested as well. We have had unprotected sex prior to me being diagnosed. Each doctor just seems to act like this is just no big deal and I can't seem to find anyone who cares to explain this to me where I can understand it. I am very frustrated and confused at this point.

I understand your frustration. Doctors act like herpes isn't a big deal because, medically, it's not. In 99% of cases, it's just a nuisance. Psychologically though, it can be very damaging.
Do you have the numbers for the test? The IgG is fairly accurate, but false positives can happen. The test examines the count of HSV antibodies and sometimes the numbers are in a gray area.I would try not to stress yourself out too much until you get your boyfriend's results. If negative, then explore other testing options. Many conditions are confused with herpes and vice versa
In the meantime, just remind yourself that herpes isn't a death sentence and regardless of your results, your boyfriend will be supportive of he's worth it
