Constant symptoms?
Does anyone have experience with symptoms (leg pain, bad crotch burn, achy muscles) that come and go during the day, everyday for months without a break? I was recently diagnosed, but only becausec the doctor didn't know what else to call it. I'm getting suspicious because the 10 day Valtrex didn't help. Is there a way to test if I have a drug resistant strain?

I've had daily deep burning nerve sensations in my thighs and hips, along with crawling on my skin in the same location, but never any lesions. I also get mild fevers every few weeks followed by more intense burning in my hips and thighs. This happens despite taking daily valtrex. I'm also concerned that I may have a drug resistant strain

Got a positive test result and this burning and tingling sensations at the same time. Cipro and Flomax has not improved it at all. Trying new meds today for infection. Will get re-tested for HSV on Nov 2 and see urologist on Nov 9. If I get a second positive test result and if my urologist doesn't prescribe a HSV2 med, then I am giving up on him and will see an Infectious Disease Doctor who will treat me for this infectious disease that the blood tests say I have.
Its weird. My PCP says I don't have it because I have no scabs after 3 months. My urologist says I have it but he refused to treat me for it with HSV meds since I have no scabs and I didn't identify the pain as burning then. I have lived with this burning/tingling issue for 3 months and I want it to stop asap.

I tested positive for HSV-1 but have had a past oral infection. I haven't had any lesions to swab. :/
You say you think you got infected with hsv? Or are you positively tested and diagnosed with hsv as well as this issue?
I have bad crotch burn and some pelvic pain. My urologist said this is not related to HSV but could be prostatitis.

I'm taking Flomax and also Cipro in case there is a bacterial infection although my pee did not show any. Its been 2 months of pain for me and I'm hoping that these two pills fix things in the next 3-4 weeks. I have seen some minor improvement within the first week of meds. I'm definitely not peeing as often and not getting up as often in the middle of the night to pee. And the pelvic pain and crotch burn is less but I'm not normal yet. Would not want to spend the rest of my life like this. That it happened within the same time that I think I got infected with HSV is a coincidence or the medical community just do not know enough to make the connection.

I'll add that my symptoms have been going on for six months now. They've only just started to not be as bad but this is a week or 2 after finishing the Valtrex. It's been really tough getting my head around the diagnosis...part of me questioned it bc the Valtrex didn't seem to work at all. I've also had psychosomatic illnesses in the past but it seems hard to trick yourself into having herpes.

I have not been diagnosed but have experienced continuous symptoms that are mainly atypical to herpes. However, due to the fact they began after an encounter with someone who was diagnosed hsv1 positive I can't help but feel that I am most certain I am orally and or genitally hsv1 positive.
I experimentally took acyclovir and lysine for a week during these atypical symptoms to find that it brought no resolve.
The sexual encounter was April 24th approx and then she kissed me on may 4th giving one last desperate try at me.
Starting may 14th I got two canker sores. Which healed in a week and was followed by 2 more. I was basically getting 2 canker sores at a time over and over for 3 months. I am now 2 weeks free of canker sores however my top lip still has an unusual pale color stripe just where the lips meet and the bottom lip continues to be chronically chapped and turn white with water contact. I have also had a swollen right lymph node for this entire last week.
Additionally beginning on June 9th approx I got a brutal sting in the tip of my urethra. It constantly stung for 10 day and only felt better while urinating. During this time I also had abdominal pain, pelvic itch, diarrhea, constipation, frequent urination, difficulty urinating, hemmorhoids, blood when wiping, arthritis like pains in hand and foot, shooting pain by back and hips, leg and knee pain. Some of these pains coming and going even still.
After a negative igg on jun 22 (7.5 weeks after genital contact and 5.5 after most recent oral contact) I was negative. Now I am 20 weeks/18weeks post exposure and hope to test soon.
Anyway, I suggest your best bet is to wait the appropriate time (12-16 weeks) go get a herpes type specific IGG test.
I'll get mine soon enough.. They have STD clinics that can test for $40/60 and email results in 24-48 hours. Search up anylabtestnow in your area.
