Could I have Herpes?

Hey there and thanks for your help,

I am a female who had protected sex with a male.  The lights were dark and after sex I noticed that he had about 6 brownish redish looking moles in the boxer short area, not on his penis.  They did not look like blisters or ulcers and did not look like they had fluid inside them.  One looked more like a pimple however.  This is the only time that we had sex and I didn't ask him about it.  I haven't had any bumps or blisters but 37 days later when I urinated I noticed a stinging feeling.  I looked and I had one small cut that when I wiped with toilet tissue it bled. The day before I noticed this I had washed my bathing suit in dish washing detergent instead of laundry detergent and let it dry in the sun...Could this be the cause of the irritation? After just a day or so it wasn't hurting anymore and was totally cleared up in about a week or less.  Could this be herpes 37 days later? With no blisters or other outbreaks?  PS....about 10 years ago I noticed a cut like this on my vagina as well.  How likely is it that I got Herpes while using a condom and no symptoms until 37 days later and the only symptom is one small cut?
Thanks so much for your help!!

Get the hell off my board with your snake oil.  A cure for herpes is not available.

Since research has shown that Lysine has no positive impact on herpes, I doubt that it had any impact on your situation - same with the vitamin C and Zinc.

Thank you so much. It makes me relieved that you think the timing for this encounter is way off for herpes. Would it have delayed an initial outbreak since I took lysine, vitamin c and zinc? I had heard that it could ward off an outbreak. Also, do you think the dishwashing detergent I used on my bathing suit could cause this small cut?

The reddish brown moles sound nothing at all like herpes and the chance of acquiring herpes at a one night encounter using a condom is very low indeed. Also, the timing is way off for first genital infectionn.

However, the cuts that you are describing both now and years ago are concerning.  Have you ever been tested for herpes in the past? It is also possible that you could have HSV 1 genitally as it is an infrequently recurring problem.  Or the cuts could have nothing whatsoever to do with herpes.  I really don't know.  But if you were my patient with this symptom history, I would recommend that you be tested.

One more thing I wanted to add is that after the exposure I started reading on the internet so I began taking Lysine, Zinc, and Vitamin C every day?  Could this have delayed an outbreak?
