Could this be herpes or other type of infection?

I had protected sex (intercourse and oral) with this girl exactly 3 weeks ago.
However, 9 days after our encounter, I noticed small bumps on my groin area.
These looked like small pimples with a rash, however, they didn't itch.

As the days passed these started to get redder. They looked like infected pores with hair.
A week went by and they started to get bigger and white, like a big pimple about to pop.
During the second week, they popped and released some white/yellowish pus.

Currently, the pimples still there and surrounder by a red rash on my skin, they still feel like bumps on my skin, and hurt a bit if pressed.
Based on how they looked at first and now, I'd like to know if this is herpes or some other infection.

Keep in mind, that the day I had sex, I trimmed by pubic hair. I trimmed it a bit more also after the first week of these pimples to have a better look at them. (Not sure if that made things worse)

I've already made an appointment with my physician, but I'd like to know your opinion.

Look forward to your response.

I don't suspect hsv. Sounds more like follicitis.
