Cut around anus

Hi all, i dont know if this is the right community to post this to. I have had anal cuts for as long as i can remember usually on the top side of my rectum (anterior fissures). I have had them on the rectum as well as small cuts slighty above (couple millimeters)  the rectal ring (but still in skin that contracts and retracts with bowel movements). I have had them come and go since i was a kid far b4 i was sexually active or anything. I was just wondering if this was a normal occurrence to have them in the area but not directly on the rectal ring. Im paranoid about stds (although not so much as i've had these for years), cancer and such. They bleed slightly during bowel movements but are of no real discomfort otherwise. Could these just be normal fissures? If there is another community i should post this too please let me know? I've heard herpes can do this as well.

You've had these for as long as you can remember. No reason to suspect that these are any way related to herpes.

the symptoms of a hsv1 genital ob are the exact same as hsv2. The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a free resource for more reading.

You should follow up on these anal issues with a GI specialist at some point if you haven't already.  Even though these are a chronic thing for you for a long time, it could be a sign of something else going on and of course getting on top of constipation is always in your best interest. Open fissues make you more vulnerable to infections in general so you want to be preventing them instead of waiting until they occur and treating them/waiting for them to heal.

make sense?

Sorry i didnt post this to u originally, im new at this site

In the past 4 months I have been to the doc for what turned out to be simple jock itch, and then again for folliculitis and an ingrown hair. He also said that cuts around the rectum area were normal, i just to eat more fiberous foods and such but after reading things about herpes online i became paranoid i guess. Seeing as i've had sex with 2 ppl (both who tested clean) and oral sex from only 3 other ppl in my life i would say that  the chances of this being anything other than fissures is little. thank you for your response

Yes, they sound like normal fissures. Any reason you haven't been to your doctor for an exam to confirm that and to be properly treated?
