Do I have herpes?

About a month and a half ago I had unprotected oral sex wit a girl who told me she had herpes but wasn't going through a outbreak we also had protected sex with a condom fast forward a month later I get a small paper cut feeling in my butt area I pay no mine thinking i may have just scratched myself I go out that night and party and sweat a lot all come home go to sleep I wake up the next morning and my Anus area is in pain burning and stinging I take a look down there and I see red spots all over which is a surprise to me because prior there was no bumps or blisters that piped open or nothing just a full out rash looking thing I go the dermatologist and she tells me it's could be herpes along with alot of other thing I am currently waiting for the results looking up the symptoms I see its a very good possibility it could be herpes because I also suffered swollen lymph nodes but  wondering  how come it's no where else but my anus because not sexual every happens back there! not my penis or testicles no where and this is the first time so it would be my "initial outbreak" but doing my research it would be too late for it to be my "initial outbreak" seeing as those acure 4-12 days after the infection so bottom line im very confused please help!!!!!

First time outbreaks always occur at point of contact as thats the nature of first time herpes. Recurrent outbreaks could occur any where in the boxer short area but even at that its not common. Herpes almost always breaks out in the same spot give or take an inch. Also first time outbreaks occur on an average in the first week not a mont later.

Hi Bubba,

Sorry to hear about your issues.

Herpes usually appears in the area where you were infected, but not always.  If you were exposed to the virus on your penis or testicles, you can have an outbreak anywhere in the 'underwear region', which is between your waist line and your mid-thigh.

Other than that, you really have to wait until your results come back to verify what you have.

Good luck.
