Does pregnancy increase risk of contracting hsv?

I am 23 and I've recently found out that I might be pregnant. My mother, who I live with, is hsv1&2 positive. Should I be concerned about anything while living with her, sharing bath tubs, soaps, toilets, eating utensils, and what about if I do my laundry with her underwear? And if I touch her dirty underwear to put in the washer?

All this worries me as I do not want to harm my own health as well as my unborn child's. I do use my own towels and never use any wash cloths that are in the bathroom.

What if I use a razor that seems un-used but was used and put back as if it weren't by her or my brother?

I'm asking because I read when you are pregnant, your body and immune system is under stress and can be a little weaker... so could I be more susceptible to the virus?

Thank you for your response. It eased a lot of my worries!
Also, thank you for the congrats. We're very excited and are preparing to move out in the next few months so we can have some time to save up.

I hope this won't be offensive or too much of a bother, but I posted another question on here last week about an incident that I felt was very risky.  Grace was very kind in responding to it and I'd hate to bother her too much more about it since I see she's had to deal with a lot of topics on here already.  I wanted to ask her though, why she feels it is not risky...if you wouldn't mind and have time, could you take a look see and evaluate it a little further for me if she cannot?

HSV is only contracted with skin-to-skin contact.  Your mother and you shouldn't be having the contact needed really to risk you or your unborn baby (congrats to you and the father!)

Avoid using the same towel.  HSV may live longer on the towel due to the nature of the temp and mositure on the towel keeping the virus alive a little longer.  Use your own towel anyway as it is good hygine.

As for the razors and so forth.  Never, Ever, Ever, Ever, share that.  Various reasons for it.  If you are sharing a bathroom and razors I would put mine in either the bedroom or a drawer that isn't to be shared for anyone else.

Though the risk in these instances is low because HSV just doesn't live long as it needs heat to survivie it is something you should be on top of.  As for clothes and the bath tub etc HSV is a fragile virus and is easily killed with soap and water.
