Equivocal HSV 2? What's next?

Hello,

On Jan 30 of this year, I got screened for STDs (including HSV-1 and 2). My last screen was in July 2014 and it all came back negative, except for HSV-1. This Jan I got a 1.07 for an HSV- 2 IgG test from Quest Diagnostic.

My primary care physician told me to wait 3 months to get the IgG test again since it could be a false positive or I might have been recently infected and my body is still building the antibodies. I called UW and asked about the WB. I didn't get to speak to a clinician but a research coordinator told me to wait 1 month to get the WB.

The WB is expensive so I would like to take it as soon as possible but make sure I am taking it at the right time. What else can I do? When should I get the WB?

I have no genital lesions but in between July and now I have had a partner of unknown status.

Do you have any reason for concern, most particularly genital lesions? Partners of unknown status?

I'd suggest this is nothing to worry about and retest in 4 weeks (at least).
