Frequent outbreaks

Why do i get so many outbreaks? when i was first diagnosed 2 years ago i would get a reoccurence every 2-3 months. now i get it every 3-4 weeks, why is this happening? shouldnt outbreaks decrease over time? another thing i only take valtrex when i am having an outbreak 1 tab twice a say for 5 days.

Thanks Grace, I will definetely try suppressive therapy and talk to my doctor, i have an app with him next tuesday.

Have they checked you for yeast and bacterial infections? bv especially can mimick herpes as well as trigger more frequent ob's.  

You might also want to try suppressive therapy and take herpes out of it. If you are still having these symtoms while on suppressive therapy then you know it's definitely more than just herpes going on. If insurance doesn't make valtrex affordable for you, try acyclovir instead. the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com goes into it all in more detail.

What else could be going on I've been checked for all other STD's and pap smears are always normal. Is there something else I shoud be tested for?

They say it is triggerd by stress.  Have you been really stressed out?  I would also suggest taking the valtrex daily, that should help.

have you seen your provider for a work up to make sure it's only herpes going on?
