hopefully you were able to be seen within 48 hours of the appearance of symptoms for a lesion culture!
Yes, they do test for yeast infections when I go to have it checked. Im actually having an outbreak now and I just ran out of valcyclovir which was only slightly helping. Because I was taking it and still developed on OB even while on it. so I'm going to contact my doctor to see if I can get a visit. Maybe this time I will be able to narrow down a few better options and get a more extensive work up. Because I don't have a quality of life anymore. And its just getting frustrating to always be sick always recovering and never getting a break.
I can relate. Dont take in too much to the answers you receive here as they are mostly personal experience and not professional. I too have experience many of the same symptoms you have except for the recurring outbreaks. My primary outbreak appeared as a papercut (fissure) for about 4 months; right before my menstrual. I started L-Lysine and they stopped. I too feel like im out of it and losing my mind at times.....extreme depression that ive never felt before. Most will think theres no correlation, but to here your symptoms sheds new light. Im no expert at anything as ive just found out recently that I am HSV2 positive. It has taken a toll on my life. Keep trying vitamins as I know there's something out there that will eventually help you. I also take Selenium, St. Johns Wart, and Olive leaf extract. Keep your head up. It will Get better!
are they testing you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally when you are seen too?

You should see a neurologist. Herpes does reside in the nervous system.
There have been reports of atypical neuropathy when one aquires HSV 2.
(I have neuro problems as well but my outbreaks are atypical also)
Sorry to hear about your herpes. You don't say how your HSV2 infection was diagnosed, but I will assume it was accurate.
However, I'm quite sure most of the symptoms you describe are not due to herpes. Recurrent herpes simply doesn't cause fatigue, memory problems, headaches, etc. And if it was herpes, almost certainly the Valtrex would be preventing your symptoms.
If your ObG really believes your symptoms are due to herpes, I would guess that he or she simply isn't very experienced with the disease. Consider getting a second opinion from an infectious diseases or STD expert.
I'm not saying you don't have HSV2, only that it isn't the main cause of your symptoms. Honestly, they are typical for a psychological problem, perhaps depression. In addition to an STD or ID expert, consider professional counseling.
Best wishes and good luck.
