HPV and Herpes and Cervical Dysplasia

My question is regarding how much research or knowledge there is in regards to herpes and hpv infection. I have been diagnosed with type 16 & 18 HPV and also have type II herpes. I recently went through severe dysplasia and had the LEEP procedure. Is there any studies showing what the liklihood is for the dysplasia to recur when you also have herpes? I know it's an added risk factor, but I am interested in any studies on this topic.

there was a small study many years ago that showed that hsv2 can make hpv infections more persistent but I've never seen any other study duplicate it.

So odds are, your hsv2 isn't going to be a big factor. we know now that the hpv is the big factor, not the coinfection.

Best of luck with your follow ups and hopefully they are all negative :)

The best place to look for studies like that would be to use pubmed.gov.  They have a serachable database of studies you can look there for some answers.
