HSV 1 & 2, giving oral

Hello,

I'm not too sure of my status as the routine STI tests in my jurisdiction doesn't include HSV 1/2 antibody text.  I never thought to ask for it actually.

Never had a cold sore in my life.

I'm male, recently met up with another male.  He had a cold sore on his lip, so we didn't kiss mouth to mouth.  He did suck on my nipple slightly and kissed my shoulder.  I didn't have any cuts around my nipples or shoulder.  I gave him a blow job and licked his balls.

I did ask him if he was hiv neg and sti free and he said he was.  He did mention that he did have a sore on his penis before but he hasn't had any soars on his penis for over a year.

I've done a lot of HIV education for myself, but not so much for herpes.

I know HSV 1 can also cause sores around his genitals.   Assuming he has either HSV 1 or HSV 2, and assuming I don't have it, what are my chances for infection?

Summary: he had a cold sore on his lip, he didn't have any sores on his genitals but he has had a sore there in the past but none in the last year.
