HSV-2 Concern

I am a 26-year-old female of Asian descent. I had two bad breakouts of cold sores from HSV-1 back in 2006 (and I believe that this also when I contracted the virus). I have not had anything that would suggest a breakout since the two in that year.

In late March, I had both protected sex and brief unprotected sex with a man whose HSV status I don't know (very stupid decision that I will not be repeating). He was 40, recently divorced and of Indian descent as well. I tested negative for all STDs six weeks after the fact, but the nurse forgot to put an order in for the Herpes *2* test. I have no symptoms of genital herpes but I know that people can be asymptomatic.

Is it necessary to get tested for it? What are my chances from this particular episode?

It is not necessary to test. You had a very low risk exposure with a very loe risk partner. Any one time unprotected exposure with a know positive oartner is a 1 in a 1000 chance. Now you add your partners unknown status (very probable he is neg) and your brief unprotected exposur. Now your odds are really to small to qquantify.  Factor in no symptoms. ... I would not spend anymore time worrying about this exposure.
