If it forms a blister, get it swab tested. If not, don't worry about it.
This is my final post on this thread.

Hi Terri - Quick update: just this morning there is a slightly painful, irregular-shaped, red spot just under my lower lip close to the corner of the mouth. (On border of lip and upper chin.) Doesn't really hurt unless I press it, and doesn't seem raised. There is no bump or blister head that I can see...almost seems like the pain is "under" the skin. It's been almost precisely a month (30 days) since my lollipop adventure above. I was just starting to feel okay about it, but now I'm worried that this could be a herpes sore. Does it seem like too long between the exposure and this first oral manifestation, or is it possible? Hoping maybe it's just folliculitis, but it concerns me that it would just happen to be on the border of my lip....
Thanks.
Great news....thank you, Terri!
Yes, I think you can go back to a fully normal life.

Thank you so much! I've been able to glean that my risk was probably very low-to-zero from reading your answers to others' questions, but this direct response definitely makes me feel better.
And yeah...it's a bizarre story. Not a position I'm likely to put myself in again. This message board is a great service, but I'd prefer to go back to a life where I'm not obsessively searching and reading it day after day... :-)
So would you say that testing is probably not even necessary? Can I safely resume kissing and other "oral activities" with my GF? (I realize you can't say 100%.)
Yes, your message doesn't show up as a new message for me when you respond first, sorry I missed it. However, the good news is that I don't think you have any risk here. Not that I've heard this one before, because I really haven't! Learn something new every day.
First, HSV 2 is not transmitted in this way. There was very minimal contact, if any, with any virus that might have been present, and it would have had to be a very small amount, if any virus was present. It just doesn't fit together at all, honestly. Blood blisters have nothing to do with herpes either. Sounds like you bit the inside of your mouth without knowing it.
I have zero worries about you contracting herpes in this situation.

Sorry, I think I might have messed up by commenting before the doctor. Hopefully this will bump it up so she can see it and answer....
Update: It's Day 15 since exposure and I'm really stressing out. My back still aches, and while the blood blister mentioned above seems to have gone away, I'm still looking at my mouth--which is extremely dry--every 30 minutes in the mirror. So far I don't think I see anything, although anything even remotely resembling the beginning of a pimple head is enough to set me worrying again....
Update: I am now on Day 13 since the above exposure, and up until now I had not seen any visual outbreaks inside or around my mouth besides the mentioned whiteheads that I think were just pimples since they cleared up on their own pretty quickly. However, just today I ran my tongue across my inner cheek and felt a hard bump. Looking in the mirror, there is a small, black blister (looks like a blood blister) on my inner cheek. After somewhat managing to calm myself, suddenly I'm panicking again. Would an HSV blister manifest itself a) as late as 13 days after exposure, and b) look like a black blood blister? Most pics I've seen of HSV look like larger, white blisters, but I'm really psyching myself out right now....Please let me know. Thanks.
Meant to add that there was NO genital contact with her at all. . .my pants stayed on the whole time. So would it be unlikely to have just an oral infection and lower back/leg pain as a symptom?
