HSV Transmission regarding gender

Why is it stated that transmission of HSV from female to male is less likely than from male to female?

thats really it. the vagina has many exposed areas that are considered mucus membranes. the mucus membranes are what attracts the virus. with such a small opening in the penis its possible just less open area to expose unless there is a cut or opening of anykind on the outside from other events.

I believe it has to do with the greater preponderance of woman's delicate labial skin; a bit more welcoming (unfortunately) to the virus being able to be transmitted.
