I'm a female and have HSV1 and HSV2 confirmed by Western Blot in 2012. I have genital OB 1-2/year, and I don't recall getting oral OBs, but I don't take suppressive therapy. My new partner was visually diagnosed with oral HSV, and he is on Acyclovir suppressive therapy since 2013.
I have couple of questions regarding transmission risks and HSV1 and 2 serology testing results while on suppressive therapy.
My partner plans to have a blood test done, does suppressive therapy skew or affect the Herpes Select results? Will suppressive therapy have an effect on Western Blot test results as well?
If yes to both tests, how long will he have to be off Acyclovir before he can get the test done?
I plan to take suppressive therapy with this new relationship, If I'm the giver of oral sex, can I give him genital HSV1 despite him having oral HSV?
If he is the giver of oral sex, can he get HSV2 orally from me?
With condom use and both us are on suppressive therapy (my partner for his oral HSV and mine for my HSV2), what are his risks of getting genital HSV?
Thank you for your time and help.
