Herpes? I hope not...

About a week ago, while my gf was with her friends one of them, who is known to have recurrent cold sores, took a bite off her fork. I don't know why but my gf continued to use the same fork, even if at that time, she saw that her friend had something near her lip that looked like an outbreak. The problem is that the same week, I kissed her and she gave me oral sex. My question is would she be infectious if she didn't had her primary infection yet?

Hsv as an adult will never pass through barely any contact with saliva still not a good idea to use same fork and twoel for overall hygiene and health. Dont worry no risk

I stand by my reply. Any risk of transmission by saliva, without direct contact, is exceedingly low, close to zero.

Contrary to the post above I did read that HSV could be passed through saliva. I would keep an eye out for any symptoms.

Your partner was not at risk for HSV by sharing a fork with her friend. The virus is only transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected lesion, not through shared drinking or eating utensils. Don't worry about it.
