Herpes Result

I tested negative for Herpes 1&2 4 weeks after possible exposure (blood test). I have no symptoms. Is there a good chance this result is accurate? What is the definite window period? .

most people don't notice symptoms because they had hsv1 orally first which takes the "edge" off of a newly acquired hsv2 genital infection. You are completely negative for herpes on your testing which is why odds are you would've had very obvious symptoms.

we recommend waiting 3 months minimum post encounter.

that said, if you were negative for herpes and had contracted it during an encounter, odds are you would've had very obvious genital symptoms within 2-20 days. up to you if you feel it's worth testing again or not since you've had no symptoms.
