Herpes Symptoms

Hello Doctor,

I less than 24 hours ago I had sex with a woman I did not know well.  I used a condom.  I just recently noticed 3 reddish ovel like blemishes, a bit larger than a pinhead, very close together that looked almost the same.  Could these be herpes symptoms.  Is it possible to have symptoms of genital herpes less than 24 hours (It would be about 20 hours as of now) after sex.  If the answer is no, what could these things be.

Thanks Very Much

I don't believe that herpes symptoms would show up on your scrotum that quickly, no.  It could be many things - sensitivity to something, fungal infection, irritation from some contact.  Don't know, but unlikely HSV

I think that would be quite unusual, I can't tell you it is impossible, just highly unlikely.  I'm not clear what that might be.

Sorry to trouble you again.  I was a bit stressed and failed to clarify a few things in my original question.  Here are some more details.  I was previously tested negative or HSV (1&2) about 18 months ago.  My symptoms did appear less than 24 hours after sex.  What troubled me most was they appeared on my scrotum, which although I used a condom, was obviously not covered by it.  Could it even be possible for new herpes symptoms to appear within 24 hours and if not, any idea what they could be?

Thank you for your time

the incubation period from infection to herpes symptoms is 2-10 days, on average.  Whatever symptoms you might be having, I doubt they are due to new infection with herpes.
