I'm experiencing Menopause and it seems my outbreaks are worse.  Does this get better over time?

hormone replacement therapy isn't always enough. topical estrogen cream is often needed too.  also even if you don't have discharge, get tested for vaginitis.  bv esp is often asymptomatic and can trigger herpes to be more active.

Yes, I am still taking 500 mg Valtrex daily.  I am on hormonal replacement too!

have you talked to your gyn about if you are getting bv infections or if the vaginal skin is thinning due to changing hormones/decreases in estrogen? both can contribute to more ob's.

are you still taking valtrex suppressively?
