Herpes and bed sheets

Hi, this may sound like a silly question but my husband and I both have genital herpes. We had sex and some fluids got on our sheets. About an hour later I took the sheets off the bed to wash them. I tried to avoid touching where the fluids were but I'm not sure that completely avoided it. I do have some small scratches on my hands. Any chance of the herpes  getting in my scratches and causing whitlow? I'm so nervous.

Absolutely zero chance. The virus is not spread that way and it died quickly when exposed.
You needn't worry about ever getting whitlow from any object or clothing

Is this true even if we covered the area where the fluids were with the blanket almost immediately?
Yes it's true. You needn't worry at all!!!
