Herpes and post-coital bleeding: related?

I am 30 years old and was diagnosed with genital herpes 9 years ago and haven't had an outbreak in over 5 years but lately (the last 6 months) I've been bleeding sometimes after sex, it's getting increasingly common. I also have sometimes felt soreness in what feels like a gland just to the left of my vagina (close to my thigh). I'm wondering if these symptoms are related to the herpes? I had a recent pap test that came back clear so I'm a little confused, perhaps when I am aroused this gland gets sore? Is this common? And should I get a second opinion on the bleeding? Is this dangerous for my sexual partner?
Thank you kindly for your advice.

a visual diagnosis of herpes isn't adequate. it's time to seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see what your status is and go from there. you and a partner can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you both know who has what. If your blood test is only  hsv1+, not a bad idea to be seen within 48 hours of your next recurrence for a lesion culture and typing to confirm if your hsv1 is genital or not.

I'm not sure which I have, I was overseas when diagnosed so they didn't do a proper test, the doctor just looked and assessed.

how were you diagnosed as having genital herpes?  do you have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally?

would herpes be causing bleeding after sex? no it would not.
