Herpes blood test results help!

I found out I tested positive for herpes 2 back in 2014. I am now looking online and seeing that you shouldn't really count IgM because it can be useless but to look at IgG. I looked back at my results and saw that my results were these.

HSV1 IgG- 0.1
HSV2 IgG- 2.9

Herpes simplex 1 & 2 IgM was a 4.4

I have not been tested after because I was told I had herpes 2 but I am now reading that IgG is the one to go by and my number could be a false positive. Can anyone give me any suggestion and should I get retested?  Thank you!

Basically all you need is a Dr to draw the blood, spin it and ship it back to the U of Washington.

You can request igg only. Unfortunately you can't assume your negative if your number is still in the low positive range. If you end up needing the western blot contact the west overheights clinic in portland. They can help arrange things for you

Ok perfect! I am going to get another blood test this week hopefully the number went down or stayed the same. Would they be able to tell me where in NJ I can get it done or would I have to pay the 80 dollars for a video chat to get that information? Sorry for the all questions after 3 years of thinking I have herpes all along I might not even have it!

I would simply get another igg test at this point. If the results are higher than 3.5 then you are positive. If the numeric value is les than 3.5 then you need to seek out the western blot. Not easy in N.Y
New York doesn't do out of state testing and the only place that does the western blot is the university of Washington. I've had people go to Jersey to have the blood drawn.

That's what I read and the comment above said they did it in New York. I am going to get another test done if the test is lower this time can I just assume that it is a false positive or should I look into going into New Jersey to be on the safe side?

Also can I just request a herpes blood test with IgG and exclude IgM or will it all have to be done the same again?

Have you ever experienced outbreaks before or after a positive test?

Not that I am aware of. When I got tested I had a pimple and was picking it thinking it was an ingrown hair.  Nothing where it's painful for weeks no fever or chills and I haven't gotten any outbreaks since the day I got tested. I am in N.Y. so I know the western blot is not available.
I think you should go for a confirmatory test.  From what I researched, many people do not get outbreaks or have an outbreak and think it's something minor like a pimple
Isn't your IGg test for HsV positive,?
Yes it was positive on HSV2 with a score of 2.9 and for herpes simplex 1&2 it was a score of 4.4
