Herpes blood test

I understand that you have to wait four months for the herpes blood test to be definitive. However if you were having a break out and had the blood test during that time is it safe to assume that the blood test would be positive?  It goes to reason that an actual break out would cause enough antibodies to be present in the blood to be detected, right?

Probably should. He's been at it a long time.

I don't have any symptoms except some pain from urination so if I have anything, they're internal. A girl licked and sucked in my scrotum for 29 seconds and now I'm paranoid. Dr handsfield in the std forum told me I don't need to worry. Probably should follow his advice.

You may read that the average time to become positive after a swab-verified outbreak is 21 or 23 days; but there are conflicting spins on that line of data.  Most of what I have read indicates that it should speed up your antibody development, but no one knows how much.  Which sucks, I know.

If you are experiencing what you think is an outbreak, it's best to be seen by a doctor to have it looked at within 48 hours of the formation of the blister.

With a recent infection a blood test could come back negative if taken less than 1 or 2 months
