Herpes from Performing Cunnilingus With Cut On Tongue

Hi, I just wanted to know if there was a significant risk of acquiring hsv-2 from performing cunnilingus on a Colombian SW with a cut on my tongue? The exposure lasted for less than 5 minutes, but after it was over, I remembered that I had a small cut on one of my taste buds from vigorously brushing my tongue a day or two before. I didn't remember this cut until I went home, brushed my tongue again, and made the cut a little bigger. Does this pose a significant risk for hsv-2, if I were to assume that she had it? Thank you.

Well, I'm not sure if it matters if she's Colombian, but oral hsv2 is rare.

There is something called site preference with herpes, and hsv2 most definitely prefers the genitals. While hsv2 can infect the oral area, it doesn't happen often at all, and when it does, it rarely recurs, rarely sheds, and therefore almost never transmits.

This isn't something I'd worry about at all. If she didn't have an outbreak, I wouldn't give it another thought.

Thank you for your response! It's been about 2 weeks now and I have been feeling weird sensations in my throat, starting about 12 days ago. Yesterday I started feeling a scratchy feeling in my throat and a little run down overall. I looked at my throat and one of my tonsils is swollen and there are white spots on it. Would herpes cause this? And if so, would I have these symptoms around now, 2 weeks after the incident? I haven't noticed any blisters on my lips or tongue. I think it could just be an unrelated respiratory infection, but I just wanted to know if these symptoms sounded like herpes at all.
I also have ear and neck pain and wanted to know if herpes usually causes that, since I read that it hides in nerves near the ear.
I would think upper respiratory infection, COVID, strep, etc., way before I'd think herpes. If it lingers, get it checked by your doctor.

Remember that oral hsv2 is rare. Other things are definitely not. Ear and neck pain might be swollen glands, easily caused by any of the things I mentioned.
