Herpes infection question.....

Ok. So, I had sex with someone who's std's status is unknown. Now, I did use a condom but before we got to that there was some foreplay where she used your vagina fluids to stroke my penis. I must at admit that I didn't like the idea but let happen, anyhow. Now, I'm concern with the risk that might have put me in. I have read online but am not sure since there is so much information out there. So, what are the chances that if this person had herpes simplex 2 that she could have passed it on to me this way? Thanks in advance.
One of the reasons I was worrying a bit was because the next day I was feeling some discomfort and started feeling a little worried. But I can't say I have not felt this before...I sure have. And the truth is that it seems like when you give a lot of mind to something it's like you almost create the symptoms at times if you know what I mean. But I'm assuming that it would have been too soon to have symptoms, anyhow?

However, I am still a bit concerned because of the encounter we had not that long ago. As I mentioned above she used her vaginal secretion to touch my penis. I am told that there is no risk here but is that 100% fact? I mean I just think that if the virus was present in her bodily fluids and then rubbing it on my penis creating heat and friction...would that not be enough to create some risk? I hope there is no risk but it just makes you wonder.

I received my test results today and they came back negative for hsv2 with an index reading of 0.90.

Another thing I don't understand is if hsv type 1 is so easily passed according to everything I have read and heard then why does it take genitals to genitals with hsv type 2? Am I missing something here? So often we hear how hsv type 1 is passed by sharing utensils etc and then we come to hsv type 2 and it's a different story...why?

Meaning that since I don't get symptoms for herpes simplex type one that it would be the same if I had type 2...meaning no symptoms? Or is it different for each type?

Thank you for your help. You have eased my mind a little bit. Now, I have another question related to this. Since I have herpes simplex type one but have never had any symptoms is it more than likely that if I was to get infected with type 2 that it would most likely be the same?

It needs genital to genital rubbing contact to be a risk.

But if the virus was present in her vagina secretion as she used it to stroke my penis would that not pose a risk? I mean my understanding is that the virus does die quickly when exposed to the air but also that it takes heat and friction such as is created while having intercourse pass it on. Now, would not the friction/heat created while stroking my penis with the virus from her vagina being present have some risk?

Hi, touching her vagina and touching your penis is no risk for hsv. Those most at risk are in long term mono relationships where one partner is infected.

Just wanted to give a little more information. The person I was intimate with is my ex-fiancée. I knew her status until about 5-6 weeks ago when she had an encounter with someone else and took some chances. So, about 3 days ago we had our encounter. Also, we both do have herpes simplex type 1. One nurse did tell me once that its harder to contract herpes simplex 2 while you have type 1. I'm hoping this helps although I know I need to make better decisions.
