Herpes or Poison Ivy?

I have developed a rash that I think may be herpes but I am not sure.  It started with a bunch of raised slightly red bumps on the under side of my scrotum.  Then I got a red patch about the size of a dime on my inner thigh.  A day or two later i got some red spots at the base of my spine.  The largest of these has some yellow puss filled bumps in a grouping.  I have no fever but a little bit of soreness in my left leg.  The rash itches but is not really painful at all.  Some of the skin near the rash burns a little but I am not sure if I am talking myself into some of these feelings.

I had unprotected sex with a girl I don't know much about in a pool 12 days before I noticed anything.  I did some dry humping with another girl unprotected 5 days before (I know it was irresponsible, i normally only have protected sex).

I had poison Ivy / Oak on my arm one month ago, near the wrist.  I was doing yardwork in shorts within 5 days of noticing anything and I shaved the fur off my dog like 2 days before.  I was wearing shorts at the time and he often rolls around in the yard.

I inclined to think it is herpes based on what I have read but there is hardly any pain, really just itching.  I used poison ivy wash on it and it has begun to clear up (scrotum bumps first).

Any insights?

You need to go and be seen and get this checked out. Poison ivy wash will dry out almost any rash which is probably why it's seeming to get better.  I would get checked out to see if this is fungal or bacterial ( I doubt it's hsv ).  Don't continue to self treat - go and be seen.
