Herpes or not?

I had sex with someone other than my wife three weeks ago. As soon as I realized what I did I started freaking out. No long after I started getting tingles everywhere on my legs and penis. A couple of weeks after I called the girl and asked if she had knowledge of any std. She also freaked out and got tested. All her tests came negative. Also about a week ago a very small pimple showed up. I immediately went to a Dr and she said that is was not herpes. She ordered a bunch of tests but not herpes as she felt strongly it wasn't that. I have not gotten any flu symptoms or enlarged lymph nodes. What should I do to make this worry go away?  I look at my penis at least 10 times a day.

Thank you

So the score for the igg is 1. So should I stop worrying ?

Your description is extremely similar to what I have been experiencing on my shaft for the past couple months they show up roughly every 4 weeks and are gone within a week but the red patch remains. the bumps are never blister like  although the first time they showed up there was one bump that may have been big enough to be considered a blister. I just have roughly 20 tight nit bumps with a red patch always in and around the same area but I have been told that 2 months is too long after my recent sexual exposure and that  negative test at 4 months would be conclusive. Is there any other stds that present like herpes but will not show up on a herpes test ?

They are more small (sometimes larger for a first outbreak) red patches with little bumps and blisters inside.

Lesions as in red sores?

As there have been no herpes lesions in the first 2 weeks since the episode then I'd suggest you have not been infected and can rest easy.

If you need the full scientific evidence, you will need to wait until 12 weeks for an IgG test.

Thank you for your quick response. So should I wait and get tested, tested now for hsv 2 or simply relax.

Very, very likely that is the case. Most infected people have scores well over 3.5 on a Herpeselect test. False positives may happen in up to 10% or more tests.

You've been 'lucky' in the sense of actually not being exposed to any STD/STI although most encounters, even with infected people, do not result in transmission.

What you have is the guilts and the knowledge that there is something wrong with your marriage. Most men's penises burn and tingle at the stress of this. Try to relax and better still, tackle your issues head on.

She was negative for everything except the igg for which she had a low score. Her Dr said it was likely a false positive

Didn't she say she was negative?

She didn't ask. That being said her igm results were negative. I will ask her to get the score of the positive

What was her score. low scores mean a recent infection or a false positive.

the girl I had sex with just informed me that she tested negative for everything including hiv but tested positive with a very small score to hsv2. Should I be concerned?

Hi, contracting herpes from a one time affair when she did not have any vaginal sores at the time would be close to zero risk.
If you did not use a condom, and since your married test for all stds including HIV for her protection.
