Herpes or yeast infection?

Sorry for this being so long but I desperately need to know if anyone has gone through the same thing as me.....

I've had this infection for five months now and have no clue what it is or what's causing it. Back in August I began to have intense itchiness and pain in the vulvar area above my clit. I was on vacation for two weeks so I wasn't able to go to a doctor and I thought it would just go away. I had oral sex about a month prior but it was with my ex boyfriend who I trusted and have never seen have a cold sore or anything like that. The itchiness and pain kept getting worse and a cut developed on my vulva over my clit while I was still on vacation. So I assumed the worst, that I somehow contracted herpes from him or someone in the previous years. About a week later a cluster of bumps formed and eventually broke out into small little blisters. At this point I was sure I had herpes. The pain was very minimal and the sores only hurt if I touched them. I was also having white and sometimes green discharge which I thought was just another symptom of herpes. I decided to wait it out and was emotionally trying to get over having it. (The pain and itchiness really weren't a problem) but a month went by and the itching and blisters still hadn't gone away which I thought was odd so I finally went to my gyno. She told me my symptoms weren't like normal herpes symptoms and that she thought it was a yeast infection. I didn't even believe her because I was so sure it was herpes. I've had one yeast infection before and it was nothing like this. She took and swab and blood test and everything came back negative for herpes...except she only took a hsv2 blood test because I already have the cold sore virus. Anyways it's taken 5 months for the blisters to FINALLY heal but I still get itching and irritation and white discharge in only that one area. I just went back and my tests came back negative again except for yeast...could this be a really ugly chronic yeast infection or did my herpes test somehow miss detecting the virus???

I'm so confused as to what this could be and if anyone has any insight PLEASE let me know!

One thing you mention should be looked into. Having a green discharge is a symptom of Trich with is a parasite. If your still having it you should go back to your doctor for testing and possible treatment.

Hi, yes this would not be associated with herpes but more a reaction from the yeast infection as the doctor advised. Herpes sores clear up in about 2 weeks. You should have tested for hsv1 also to rule this out only in theory. If you do have oral hsv1 for many years you would not contract it in the genital area as having it in one area would make you basicly immune to getting it genital.
What i would do to rest your mind is to  retest with the blood at the 3 month mark from the oral from your exboyfriend for both hsv1 and hsv2.
