Herpes outbreak that won't go away

Hello,

I had a first outbreak on my penis back in april and they did a test at that moment : it turned out it was type 1, but on the genital area. My first outbreak went away pretty quickly with valacyclovir twice a day for 10 days, but since beginning of May I am stuck with an outbreak that will not go away. It started with one sore - I immediately went to the doctor who prescribed me again with a short valacyclovir treatment. The outbreak only got worse - over a month later, my first sore is still there and 3 other sores have appeared since then, as well as some other in the pubic area (which i'm not sure are herpes or something else). I have tried bathing with epsom salts and tea tree oil  , applying tea tree oil on the sores with a carrier oil (it burned my skin), taking lysine supplements, reducing my sugar intake, reducing my dairy intake, reduce friction by stopping masturbation and wearing loose underwear but to no avail. I must say I have also been dealing with a scabies infestation for 3 months now so I know my immune system is not at his best right now. Does anyone have any tips for me? I am so desperate for this to end.

Hsv1 of the genitals is becoming very common. At least 50% of newly aquired genital hsv is hsv1.
Sorry to hear about you outbreak that persists. Keep taking the antivirals. Sometimes outbreaks linger. It is common to have another outbreak right after the first. Hsv1 on average has way less outbreaks hsv2 (genital infections) you may never get another past the first few.
