Herpes scared, please help!

Hi, I apologize in advance for the lengthy description and thank you for your help. My boyfriend gets cold sores, and one week he had a pretty bad one. I never kissed him and he never performed oral on me during this time. Once it was gone to the point where it was the color of his skin tone, but you could tell he recently had one, I thought it was all clear and he performed oral sex on me. This was around Aug 21-22.

We spent this past weekend together (Aug 29-30) which involved a great deal of sex. Sunday, I noticed a burning sensation when I peed. Later that day I started having symptoms such as fever, chills, frequent urination with little urine, and burning when urinating. Monday morning I went to the urgent care clinic and my urine was tested positive for a UTI. I was prescribed antibiotics and have been taking them regularly.

Tuesday, the symptoms described earlier went away, except the burning but it was less intense. I did notice 2 red bumps, one near my anus and one in the crease of my inner thigh. I thought nothing of them, assuming they were razor bumps. Later that day, they became a little painful to the touch, and the one near my thigh had a yellowish color in it and a hair growing from it. I worried a little, but just passed it off as an ingrown hair.

Wednesday I noticed a few more bumps near my genitals. There was one on my outer labia that was a little more painful and what appeared to be a cluster of tiny yellow raised dots. This is when I stared going into panic mode. I did the worst thing ever and googled genital herpes and some of it looked similar, some of it didn't. I read that when you contract herpes, you experience flu-like symptoms and burning urination. This made me even more scared, even though those symptoms stopped for me after Tuesday.

This morning I woke up and checked myself to find another cluster on the opposite side in the same area. However, it has gotten smaller throughout the day. These sores have been mildly painful/uncomfortable. They have never itched or tingled. They burn a little bit when touched. I never tried to squeeze any of them because I'm scared what might happen if I do that. I haven't had any cold sores on my mouth, I've never even had one growing up. I'm terrified at the thought that I might have herpes. I scheduled an appt with my OBGYN for Oct 9th. Please let me know of anything you could possibly thing of.

Thank you for your reply. Do you have any clue as to what this may be?

Hi, the august 29-30 affair would not produce any uti or herpes symptoms the next day so we are at the aug 21-22 as the cause. It would appear the his lip sore was healed enough to prevent any hsv1 genital from the oral. Also herpes are not yellow and pop up all over the place in your genital area like your describing so i would not be overly concerned youve just contracted genital hsv1.
At this point it would be best to have any sores that are there swabbed if you have a herpes concern or take a blood test at the 8 week mark as a good indicator. Since upward of 65% would test positive for hsv1 oral, there is a big possiblility that you already have it and if you do you would be basicly immune to getting it genital.

** I also started taking birth control in the beginning of August, if that needs to be factored in.
