Herpetic whitlow through shaking hand. Help

Today i shook hand with one of my friend but his finger was swelling and also the white base on the swelling area I am not sure that it was herpetic whitlow or something else it was not on the tip of the finger but on the middle of the finger. immediately I washed my hands thoroughly but I am getting paranoid. Please help
that m infected or not.. !!

Patience, please. Nobody is on call to answer questions 24/7. Don't expect replies sooner than 24 hours, especially on weekends.

Nobody ever gets herpes by hand contact of this sort. It is very unlikely your friend had a herpetic whitlow, but if he did, you aren't at risk (even if you hadn't washed your hands). HSV is not transmitted to intact skin by such brief contact. Don't worry about it.
