How I can tell an initial outbreak of Herpes

I had a recent (6 days ago) encounter and my mind is going CRAZY with worry. I think the tip of my penis has been tingling intermittently in an area about the size of a half-dime for ~3-4 days but there is nothing there visually appearing.  My sex was protected but with a high risk individual. This is the only possible time of contraction of HSV2.

The tingling, in addition to being a very small area is kinda intermittent -- I notice it when i'm sitting but not when I'm standing or walking. I dunno if it has to do with my penis being pushed against cloth, or I just get mentally engaged when doing something and lose track of it.

I read on this forum (but no where else in literature) that the first outbreak doesnt have prodrome, which would mean my symptoms are something else entirely or 100% in my head.  How true is this statement?

thanks for your advice! I will get tested around 2.5 weeks, 6 weeks, and 3 months, but i really need to know where I stand.

You had protected sex. This effectively brought your risk down to close to zero. Your symptoms are not hsv related and the penis was covered so no std would've been contracted on the covered area.
What makes you think your partner was high risk?
Bottom line is your stress and anxiety are getting the best of you and your constant checking of the area is irritating your genitals. Try and relax as your odds of hsv or any std from this exposure is so low. By that I mean close to zero.

So its 6 days post encounter and the tip of my penis still itches.  one (only one) of my balls is slightly sore.... any ideas?  It's been sore a couple days now. I'm thinking of getting a cream and self-treating while I wait the rest of the 2 weeks to get STD testing.

If I pull the skin back really tight i can see what may be tiny tiny red dots -- but it's so small it could be 'rash'. It's certainly not raised nor is it painful to squeeze or otherwise manipulate my penis. No burning.

I assume this cant be herpes because of the previous response and itching lasting so long, but what else an I looking at?

Hi, the issues here is location not prodrome. First time outbreaks occur at point of contact so in your case a condom covered the area so its for sure not herpes related. Maybe just an injury from the condom rubbing along with your constant checking and touching the area.
