How would I test negative for HSV1 and 2?

I had a comprehensive STD screening recently (blood samples sent to a lab) and had negative results for everything, including HSV1 and 2. Because of this, I am doubting the reliability of the results.

First, I thought it was just to be assumed that I would have HSV1. I have had a red bump right along the edge of my upper lip, which I took to be herpes. It healed in a couple days.

More to the point, 5 years ago I had unprotected sex with a friend who was an escort. I was quite drunk and didn't stop her when she took the condom off in the middle of the act. Two or three days later, I had red bumps all over the head of my penis, pain leading to my backside and shooting pains down my legs. I took it for granted that this was HSV2, I was young and in such shock that I didn't have it looked at and have irresponsibly tried to ignore it until now.

Lastly, I had these very tiny little white bumps appear in clusters in the corners of my lips (impossible to see except up close) after that encounter 5 years ago, and something similar around the base of the head of the penis and/or foreskin (my memory is vague on this point).

I recently had an HIV scare, which is why I had the testing done, and while having symptoms (which I thought were HIV related), these tiny white bumps on my lips have grown to greater numbers and clusters are appearing further away from the corners of my mouth.

So, can anyone advise me how likely it is I could actually be HSV-negative? Or whether the test for this is really accurate?

Huh. I looked up some images and they're closer to what I remember seeing than most of the images of herpes sores. Thanks for the info.

Herpes is not common to be on the penis head. Would be more  fungal related

My problem is that I paid out of pocket for this test, thinking I would finally have a definite answer regarding HSV1 and 2. Then I could no longer pretend it wasn't there. I would not be able to retake unless I paid out of pocket again, which I can't do.

In the meantime, I'll wait for the appropriate time to take a free standard HIV test at the health department, just to check on that result.

But I'm honestly wondering, what could those red sores all over the head of the penis have been other than herpes? This isn't a vague hypochondriac type of concern...

Hi, yes these tests are upward of 90% accurate and i would surly trust the results but if you dont then retest.
