Hsrpes risk

Hello thanks for the forum !
I had sex a day ago. Protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex. Me male she female. She has no symptoms of oral herpes but I am unaware if she has them or not. Question: this was only one time, how likely would it be that if she does that I could actually get infected. I have tested in the past and have been negative for both. Thank you!

The chances for hsv2 are quite low, and we don't have transmission stats for hsv1 as it hasn't been studied like hsv2.

A note though - the hsv1 IgG test misses 30% of infections. You could have it and not know it. If you already have it, you can't get it again genitally.

If you don't see symptoms by 12 days or so, I wouldn't worry. I wouldn't worry generally, but symptoms usually appear within 2-12 days.

Dear Aunt Jessi

Thanks for answering. I was hoping it was you. Well just to give you some more background.
I do have a partner which we have unprotected sex. So I have some questions.

The girl I had sex with last Friday is younger and a coworker.
and has only had 4 partners including me. She has only had sex with a condom and once time with her first partner anal sex without.

I did receive unprotected oral  sex and she has had no visible sores and said she hasn’t had in all her life.

If no clinical symptoms for herpes  show up in two weeks. Would you suggest I can have unprotected sex with my regular Partner ?

I was thinking of at least getting a gono and chlam test, would 3 days be enough since the oral sex was unprotected?

Also, she had no blisters or symptoms in the vaginal area.  The condominium didn’t cover all the way to the base because of my size but tried constantly to roll it down. The sex was slow, not really full force friction and so far she has never had symptoms of any StI
What do you think?
First of all thanks for your help and I hope I am not being to paranoid.
Ahhh, so you had sex outside your regular relationship. The anxiety makes sense now.

Oral sex is much lower risk than vaginal or anal sex. I wouldn't worry about that, and she sounds low risk with only 4 partners. (It may sound higher risk to you, but it really isn't.)

When you have sex, make sure you are using the correct condom size. If you need a larger size, you may need to provide the condom, and they do make larger sizes. If it's trying to roll down, it's not the correct size.

Her never having any symptoms is a good sign, though she could have HPV with no symptoms. There's no way you'll know that unless she has a pap smear and HPV test, and if she isn't due for one, she won't be able to get one, so don't push her on that. If she always uses condoms, there's no reason to suspect she does.

There's no way to 100% know that she has nothing, but she seems low risk and I wouldn't worry.

No judgement, but since this makes you worry so much, it would be a good idea to remember this if you want to do it again. It's really not a judgement, just a note for your mental health.
Dear Aj,

You are right I will not force her since you know this falls on me. . I will wait those two weeks and if nothing show up that I should resume normal sec lif with my partner.  Just two more questions
1. How common is chlam herpes ,and gono from oral sex ?
2. I take lysine as a supplement, could that affect the appearance or a first herpes outbreak ??
Once again, thanks for your help. It’s 3 days and still no physical symptoms , just 9 more to go. Thank you!
1. How common is chlam herpes ,and gono from oral sex ?

Chlamydia and gonorrhea aren't common.

Genital herpes type 1 is far more common, and oral sex is the way it's transmitted. It's almost never transmitted by intercourse. (Genital herpes type 2 is almost always transmitted by intercourse. The number indicates the strain of the virus, not the location of it.)

2. I take lysine as a supplement, could that affect the appearance or a first herpes outbreak ??

There is a lot of talk about lysine helping herpes. I've yet to see any conclusive studies that prove this. Some stand by it, and say it helps prevent outbreaks. I wouldn't count on it, and wouldn't worry that it would prevent you from seeing symptoms.

Dear Aj,

I just wanted to give you an update.
It’s been a week since my exposure and the doctor saw me today. She didn’t say anything but she said is not an expert.

I also tested negative for chlam and gono on a urine test.

I have the following questions and would love to hear an opinion.

1. Online in different forums and posts their is different opinion on timeline of herpes symptoms. If I don’t see anything in 14 days should I forget about it ? Or should I wait 20 days ?

2. I’ve tested negative in the past and well I would assume if I was true negative I would shown symptoms by now.

3. Since it was vaginal al protected sex and the history of my partner I shouldn’t worry right ? I am circumcised so idk if that plays a role

4.finally would you suggest if I don’t show anything to test at all for herpes or syphilis ? ?? Since , I used a condom
and hiv and heps are out of the picture ?

Thanks for your help and I apologize if I sound to stressed or full with anxiety. Thank you
Most expert sites say 12 days, which is what I'd go with.

I wouldn't worry about syphilis. It's uncommon enough that I wouldn't worry at all. If it were me, I wouldn't bother with testing for that.

HIV and heps are definitely out of the question. The only hep that's truly sexually transmitted is B, and you were probably vaccinated for that, anyway. Hep A is found in feces, and is most often transmitted by contaminated foods. Hep C is transmitted only by blood. When A and C are transmitted sexually, it's almost always by unprotected anal sex.

Really, I understand your anxiety over this, but your risk is really, really low. Remember that guilt doesn't equal risk.
I apréciate your help from the bottom of my heart . If it’s okey with you I will update you at the day 12 and greetings from Spain. If you are ever in Barcelona, please let me know ! I would love to return the favor !
Yes, updating me is fine. I'd love to be in Barcelona someday, and if I ever get the opportunity, I'll surely let you know. :)
Good morning Aj I hope your doing well. I just wanted to give you an update.  It’s been 12 days and I haven’t had any symptoms such as fevers , blisters, or swollen lymph nodes. Or pain when urinating  I think I am more than likely fine but I’ll wait  two more days until I reach 14 and if I done see anything then I will continue unprotected sex with my partner. Do you agree on this? Thanks a bunch and like I said, hope to see you in Barcelona soon !
I think that's fine. Your risk was so, so low, so I think it's a fine plan. :)

You're welcome!
