Hsv-1 positive, Could I have it genitally

I had an encounterwith a girl. We kissed and had protected oral and vaginal sex. Two days later I have a cold sore. 3 weeks later and came back positive for hsv-1 which I assumed from the cold sore. Is it possible I contracted it genitally as well?

well at this point it sounds like you are noticing things that are of no importance and giving yourself needless anxiety about it all!

Grace, I'm sorry but I figured I would get a second opinion from someone that may know of it a little better than me. I don't think I'm being obsessive, I'm just concerned about my health. I've never felt anything like that in my legs/groin before so I asked. Apologies for being a nuisance, I only wanted some advice regarding my health.

sounds like you need a new hobby instead of one that involves being obsessive about checking out your genital area?

well, When I had went to get tested, I told the doctor that I thought the lymph nodes in my groin were swollen, as well as hurting when I sat down for long periods of time. He checked them and said that they were normal, and that the size they were was nothing to be concerned about. Then about 3 days after that, I felt a tingling/burning sensation in my groin and thighs. That lasted briefly for about 5 minutes or so. Then the pain in my groin was almost complete gone. The burning/tingling occurred again the next day, as I said before, it was briefly. I did not have any sores or lesions on any part of my body below the waist. I check every where and found nothing. I never had a tingling/burning sensation in my penis or testicles for that matter. I worried that I may have HSV-1. I called the doctor and told him and he said there is no way to tell unless there is an outbreak so I'm unsure of what to do. I have a new girlfriend and she is aware I have HSV-1 but I'm afraid of spreading anything.

unfortunately since it was 3 weeks after the fact, no way to know if this is a newly acquired infection for you or not. were you ever tested for herpes before this?

if you didn't have genital symptoms, no reason to think that you contracted hsv1 genitally. protected oral is about as safe as it gets anyways.
