I find it hilarious...

That I got herpes when I was 16 at some party to a clean looking cute girl because I was anxious and determined to lose my V-Card, and 3 years later I still haven't lost my virginity...It's funny that one lapse of judgement can affect you for the rest of your life.

it's highly unlikely you contracted hsv2 from receiving oral sex. not many folks have hsv2 orally and those who do, rarely shed the virus to transmit it to others.

you have hsv1 orally already so the odds that you'd have contracted it genitally from receiving oral are also incredibly low.

genital herpes never causes tingling feelings all the time either.

so definitely at this point, it matters a heck of a lot that you get a further work up to find out what is going on. next time you have symptoms, be seen within 48 hours for a proper exam and more testing.

Sorry I got so carried away telling my life story that I forgot to answer your other question haha. Yes oral sex was my only contact but if I remember correctly, it happened twice that night and for a good amount of time (drunk).

Grace I just want to say that I took a quick glance at this section of the forum, and I seriously respect you for what you do. You really help people out with their worries and questions. You are a good person.

As for your questions, I definitely had Hsv-1 orally since I was a kid, although I never get breakouts anymore on my mouth. As for down below, I am not quite sure because my "symptoms" or outbreaks are very rare so I am never able to get a formal cotton swab. When I asked the sexual health clinic about blood tests (IImmunoglobulin G), they said they didn't offer that anymore and said the results wouldn't be 100% conclusive seeing as I already contracted hsv at an early age (which I believe to be false information).

If I had to guess I would say I have hsv-2 because my outbreaks hurt quite a bit, although, after my intial outbreak three years ago, I had only one but I think that is only because of how healthy and strong my immune system is. What is note worthy though, is that I always have this "tingly" or "odd" feeling more days then not in my scrotum or penis which makes me feel very contagious and reminds me of my STD.

I know you are going to say to go to a hospital or doctors to get a test done to determine which one I have on my genitals, but it really doesn't matter to me. Both of them can be given to a sexual partner if I am not careful even though hsv2 has a larger "window" and is alittle more "violent", they both are equally as bad in my eyes. Also I don't care for any type of medication as I said before I don't outbreak often. Not sure what I am trying to accomplish posting here but it just felt like I had to vent somewhere after having it for so long. Thanks for reading.

let's start at the beginning - do you have hsv1 or hsv2? how were you diagnosed?

was oral sex your only contact?

Sorry I also would like to add the reason for my lack of intimacy is that I do not want to risk spreading it to a girl because nobody deserves to carry this burden. I have been offered numerous times and had plenty of opportunities from good looking girls or ones I really liked but couldn't go through with it. Can anybody relate?
