I hope it isn't herpes

I am a 21 year old male and I have had 2 sexual partners. I dated a girl for about 2 years and we would always have unprotected sex. We broke up about 6 months ago an I was with another girl about 6 weeks ago and we had unprotected sex. About a month ago I came home from college and and me and my ex had unprotected sex twice in two days. Two weeks later I came home again and we had unprotected sex multiple times per day for 3 days in a row. A few days later I found out that the girl I was with in between being with my ex girlfriend could potentially have herpes. I immediately start checking my genitals and freaking out. I had no symptoms but over the next few days my penis was sore on the head and right below the rim. I went into the doc to get checked out and he was not worried about any of the irritation i was having and told me it was most likely from my self examinations and to refrain from sex and masturbating till it went away. Meanwhile, two days after the last time me an my ex had sex, she developed side pain and back pain and an irritation while urinating. She went in to the doctor and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and the beginning of a kidney infection. I am worried that this could be misdiagnosed and could be herpes. I don't have any symptoms but its been a week since I found out the girl could have herpes and I still feel soreness. It's not painful, there is no discharge or lesions its just irritation against my boxers. I asked the the other girl if he had an STD and she said he had recently been tested and she did not have anything. I don't know her that well and she could be lying. My ex girlfriend is still experiencing pain because apparently the antibiotic they prescribed her was resistant to the bacteria. They found this out after getting the urine sample back. She just got on a new antibiotic yesterday so I am just anxious because she's starting to develop flu-like symptoms. Just want some feedback and hoping someone can relate!

the herpes blood tests we have test for antibodies to herpes infection. if you have antibodies to herpes then you've been infected with the virus. plenty of good info on herpes testing in the free herpes handbook we recommend in our read before posting post on the forum.

The doctor I went to said that blood tests for herpes doesn't tell if you have herpes is just tells if you've been exposed to the virus. Not sure exactly what it means so looking for your guys' input. Thanks

sometimes the flu like symptoms are from the antibiotics, most often, they are the actual flu.

since you have been having unprotected sex, follow up at the proper times with the proper testing. you can get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, trich and ngu after 1 week after you last had sex. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.

always have protected sex with partners!  it protects against pregnancy as well as against std's.

You can do a blood test to check for herpes, since you don't have any sores.
